Prof. Virginia Chaitin is a highly accomplished independent researcher born in 1963 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With an unusually broad background, she moves freely between the exact sciences, philosophy and the humanities. Engaged in contemporary social transformation, she combined a professional career with motherhood in her fifties, and is currently a member of the International Steering Committee «Paul Feyerabend Centennial 2024» and a Washington DC Brazilian women’s group for confronting gender and child abuse.

Metabiology: A metatheory of biological evolution.

Epistemology: Pluralistic and permeable, based on non-isomorphic concept migration, encompassing multiple forms of rationality and different systems of knowledge.

Research Methodology: Inter and transdisciplinary approach.

Gifted Education: Focus on nurturing gifted individuals.

Statistics and Systems Analysis: Utilized in the study and optimization of organizational and operational scenarios.

Participations & deliverables

During her residency, Professor Virginia proposed and organized, together with the Chair of Complexities ∞ Humanities of the Africa Business School/UM6P, the Feyerabend Centennial Session in the 2024 Science Week. She is also writing a book on pluralistic and permeable epistemology, criteria for inter and transdisciplinary research through mimetic concept migration, and different knowledge systems based on different forms of rationality. In the October 2023 Science Week, she spoke on metabiology, a new interdisciplinary research area and is currently engaged in interacting with students and faculty in both Benguerir and Rabat UM6P campuses on the topic of her book.
