Multi-Effects Strategic Decisions in the Context of Supply Chain Resilience for the Maritime Port System

Abstract

This conference paper develops a multi-effects strategic decision framework for maritime port systems, jointly optimising capacity allocation, modal integration, and risk-hedging under demand uncertainty. Integrating network resilience theory with multi-objective optimisation and validated against three Mediterranean port case studies, the model demonstrates significant reductions in systemic vulnerability — a timely contribution for port operators and logistics policymakers navigating post-pandemic supply chain volatility.
