Beyond the Individual
N2 is an international, interdisciplinary conference fostering creative collaboration for intentionally and ethically steering the future evolution of global consciousness. “N2” signals the exponential pace of the evolution of the noosphere and the reality that the next century will far exceed the last in rapid and radical change to the global mind. “N2” also suggests how the noosphere amplifies our access to human understanding – beyond the individual “n of 1.”
In an era of unprecedented global challenges and rapid technological advancement, understanding and guiding the evolution of the noosphere – our collective consciousness – has never been more crucial.
The N2 Conference aims to address critical questions about our shared future, fostering innovative solutions and collaborative thinking, particularly from the perspective of the Global South.

The Noosphere Global South
The N2 Conference 2024 is the second edition of the prestigious N2 Conference launched by Human Energy at the University of California Berkeley in 2023, featuring invited speakers such as Kevin Kelly, Ben Goertzel, Ilia Delio, Robert Wright, Robert Lawrence Kuhn, and many more, as well as Human-Energy-affiliated scientists such as Terrence Deacon, Francis Heylighen, Gregory Stock, Brian Swimme, and David Sloan Wilson. The 2024 N2 Conference on the Noosphere & the Global South will be a highly participatory and collaborative event, with short, feature presentations from an impressive slate of invited speakers, an interactive exhibit of selected posters, and ample time for mutual engagement and discussion.
We welcome all those interested in the noosphere and the promise of human collective consciousness to attend, and we invite proposals for presentations that speak to the conference themes, outlined below.
N2 is an in-person conference with opportunities for remote participation. All presentations will be live-streamed for open access. Virtual registration will give viewers up-to-date information about the program and related resources.
