Biography
Rebecca Parry is a professor at Nottingham Trent University and the Co-Director of the Centre for Law, Emerging Technologies and Business. She specialises in international and comparative insolvency law with a focus on the UK, the USA, the EU, India and China. Her work recently has considered the intersection of technology and commercial law, including the regulatory framework needed to support digital economies, including insolvencies in this sector, and the use of artificial intelligence. She chairs the Personal Insolvency Taskforce for the Insolvency Law Academy, an Indian think-tank and is part of its Emerging and Developing Economies group. Her publications include Transaction Avoidance in Insolvencies (3rd edn, OUP, 2018), with a 4th edition presently being edited. She is interested in corporate, partnership and personal insolvency law. She is the leader of the research network Mapping Grey Areas in International Legal Approaches to The Failure of Crypto Firms, which is sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. She has interests in related areas of company law, notably directors’ duties and director disqualification. She is the Co-Director of the Centre for Law, Emerging Technologies and Business.
