De l’Agression Coloniale à l’État Islamique : Aux Origines des Rivalités Charismatiques dans l’Irak Post-Baathiste (1991–2019)

Sakhi, M. — IAS-UM6P

Abstract

A long-durée sociological account of how the colonial destruction of the Iraqi state fragmented religious authority structures, generating the charismatic rivalries that culminated in the rise of ISIS. Bridging social movement theory, the sociology of religion, and colonial studies, this article makes a significant contribution to the academic understanding of Islamist political violence.
