Biography
Philippe Froguel was born in 1958. He studied medicine at the CHU Saint-Antoine in Paris, where he obtained his medical degree in 1984, followed by a PhD in Nutrition in 1991 (University of Paris 7) and an Habilitation to Direct Research in 1993. After passing the Paris medical internship exam in 1983, he became a Chief Resident in Endocrinology at Saint-Louis Hospital in 1989, and later a Lecturer in Genetics and Hospital Practitioner in Endocrinology (Saint-Louis Hospital, then CHRU de Lille) in 1993. He is now Professor of Endocrinology-Diabetology at the CHRU de Lille, France’s largest university hospital, and Professor of Genomic Medicine at Imperial College London, the UK’s leading medical faculty.
