Biography
Prof. Karim Abadir is an Emeritus Professor of Financial Econometrics at the Business School (Chair of Financial Econometrics 2005-2017). He was in charge of recruiting from March 2006 and Group Head from July 2007 until Sept 2008. He holds a DPhil from Oxford University. His MA (Economics) and BA (Major in Economics, Minor in Business) are from the American University in Cairo. He went to school at the Collège de la Sainte Famille (Jésuites) in Cairo.

Residency at IAS UM6P
On 26 September 2023, Prof. Karim Abadir delivered a talk titled “Vive la différence! Or how the diversity of firms predicts macroeconomic (and financial) trends and cycles.” In October 2023, he also participated in the Science Week as an IAS resident, contributing to the program through a dedicated intervention. During his residency, he has been working on the finalization of two research articles, in line with the objectives outlined in his initial project.
