The Institute for Advanced Studies at UM6P (IAS–UM6P) offers scientific residencies designed to provide researchers, thinkers, and creators with the time and space to pursue ambitious, interdisciplinary projects. Our residencies foster dialogue across disciplines and geographies, encouraging bold inquiry into today’s most urgent intellectual, scientific, and societal challenges.
Residency Sessions at IAS–UM6P
Full-time, on-site presence on the UM6P campus is required for all residents.

IAS Research Priorities
First Evaluation Criterion
Candidate’s research experience in general, involvement in international research networks, level of excellence, and specific scientific achievements (a PhD is required for scientists; artistic achievements in the case of an artist residency)..
Second Evaluation Criterion
Internal coherence of the project, originality in the scientific field (or in the artistic field in the case of an artist residency), and potential impact of the proposed research project.
Third Evaluation Criterion
Correspondence of the project with one or more of the IAS research programs.
Required Documents for Application
Applicants for the IAS Residency at UM6P must upload the following documents as part of their application.
1 Letter of Intention
A formal statement outlining the applicant’s motivation, objectives, and expected contributions to the IAS community.
2 Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A comprehensive CV detailing academic qualifications, professional experience, research achievements, publications, and relevant positions held.
3 Personal Publications
One to four key publications that showcase the applicant’s research expertise and contributions to their field.
4 Project Summary
A concise half-page summary providing a clear overview of the proposed research project, highlighting key objectives and significance.
5 Expanded Project Proposal
A detailed proposal (minimum three pages, maximum ten pages, excluding appendices) describing context, methodology, expected outcomes, and relevance to the IAS mission.
These documents are essential for assessing the applicant’s qualifications, research vision, and potential contribution to the IAS community.
