Facilitating World-Class Research
Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) primarily aims at creating a high-quality environment for esteemed researchers worldwide. Researchers can engage in personal research aligned with IAS topics in the fields of Hard Sciences (Physics, Chemistry & Biology), Mathematics & Computer Science as well as in the field of Soft Sciences (Humanities & Social Sciences), and Culture & Art, through contractual arrangements or punctual invitations.
Residents, under contract, have a determined timeframe for their projects, while Guests enjoy open-ended research stays.
Both IAS Residents and Guests enjoy intellectual freedom and unlimited access to scientific information. Residents can work on different projects within a specified time frame during their residency, while Guests are punctually invited. These projects include theoritical works, scientific experiments and articles, editing books, artistic exhibitions, or other scientific and creative outputs.

Fostering Collaborative Research through Organized Meetings
IAS-UM6P plays a crucial role in promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and scientists through organized meetings and programs. These gatherings include research sessions, seminars, courses, and various collaborative activities, fostering synergies among scholars from different disciplines. The outcomes of these efforts do not only advance collective research but also influence the university's academic culture, guide and supervise doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, and inspire future scientists.
