Sanae Arraqas

Sanae Arraqas, born in Morocco in 1989 and a graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan, is a Moroccan visual artist and educator. Her work, influenced by an anthropological approach, questions contemporary lifestyles and the new forms of alienation in public spaces. With her sensitivity and ongoing research, she addresses social issues that affect her daily life and shape our shared contemporary reality.

A leading figure in a new wave of figuration increasingly present in contemporary art, Sanae Arraqas offers a fantasized interpretation of a calendar where misunderstandings and impossible fictions intertwine.

Drawing influence from Northern European painters, she masters the noble techniques of oil painting, drawing, and printmaking, while also exploring the art of installation.
