Biology & Biotechnology
About the Program
Research in Biological Recognition & Biotechnological Innovation
The Biology and Biotechnology program supports research in areas of biological recognition and interaction mechanisms, particularly lock-and-key biological reactions and the development of biorecognition elements for biosensors, alongside other biologically driven topics of technological relevance.
Researchers are welcomed across the full scope of modern biology — from cell biology and genetics to structural biology, systems biology, and synthetic biology. The program sits at a productive intersection with chemistry, materials science, and medical research.
IAS biology residents benefit from collaboration with UM6P’s Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences and faculty engaged in precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, and biomedical research — creating uniquely rich cross-disciplinary opportunities.
