About this Event

End of Residency Seminar — Dr. Hanane Yaagoubi

The Institute for Advanced Studies at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is pleased to host the End of Residency Seminar of Dr. Hanane Yaagoubi, whose residency at IAS spanned from February to December 2025.

During her time at IAS, Dr. Yaagoubi developed a research project at the intersection of materials science, sustainability, and additive manufacturing, addressing a key challenge of the energy transition: the development of high-performance, eco-friendly materials.

Her work focuses on the valorization of local phosphate waste, transforming it into a novel composite material suitable for 3D printing applications. By combining waste recycling with advanced material formulation, she successfully developed a printable composite and conducted a thorough characterization of its mechanical and thermal properties.

The integration of this material into additive manufacturing processes opens new possibilities for the design and fabrication of optimized components tailored to energy transition systems. Beyond its technical contribution, this research highlights a broader approach — one that connects circular economy principles with advanced manufacturing technologies.

Through this seminar, Dr. Yaagoubi will present the key outcomes of her residency project, offering insights into how locally sourced waste materials can be leveraged to support sustainable innovation and resource-efficient production.

The session will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.
