The Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) – UM6P hosted a new session of its Mercredis de l’IAS seminar series with a talk delivered by Dr. Hanane Yaagoubi, resident researcher at IAS–UM6P.
Entitled Additive Manufacturing Applied to Concrete: From Research to Real Applications, the seminar explored the transformative potential of 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP)—an emerging technology that combines digital design and additive manufacturing to automate the construction of complex concrete structures without traditional formwork.
Held at Salle Laâyoune on the UM6P Campus Benguerir, the session provided participants with an in-depth overview of current research advances in 3DCP, covering innovative material formulations, process control, and performance optimization. Dr. Hanane Yaagoubi also addressed the practical challenges involved in scaling these technologies for real-world applications, particularly in the context of sustainable and efficient construction practices.
The seminar sparked engaging discussions on the future of additive manufacturing in the built environment and highlighted the role of interdisciplinary research in bridging the gap between laboratory innovation and industrial implementation. The IAS warmly thanks all participants for contributing to this dynamic exchange of ideas.
