Programs
The IAS welcomes residency and guest applications that align with its core research programs. These programs bring together scholars, scientists, and practitioners working across disciplines to explore major scientific, technological, and societal questions. We invite researchers whose projects resonate with the themes below to apply and engage with the IAS community through collaboration, dialogue, and independent research.
Hard Sciences
IAS encourages submissions for residencies and guests’ applications in all the fields of hard sciences, i.e. formal natural sciences, including physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, etc., with excellence as a motto. Residents and guests of IAS are free to work on any topic they are interested in. IAS scientists are encouraged to collaborate with each other, and with UM6P faculty members, to benefit from a strong synergistic activity of other departments/schools of the University, or with scientists at other institutions. The Institute programs are closely integrated with the corresponding activities of the different components of UM6P via joint seminars, and frequent informal contacts.
Humanities & Social Sciences
IAS encourages submissions for residencies and guest applications in the fields of humanities and social sciences, bringing together disciplines that explore human societies, cultures, institutions, and ideas. Scholars at IAS are free to pursue independent research while engaging in a rich intellectual environment that fosters dialogue across disciplines. The Institute promotes collaboration among IAS residents, UM6P faculty members, and external researchers, supported by seminars, workshops, and informal exchanges that connect research in the social sciences and humanities to broader scientific and societal questions.
