IAS SCIENTIFIC BOARD
- • Made up of academic personalities, 2/3 of whom are from outside the university.
- • The board guarantees scientific legitimacy.
- • The board may object to the selection of a candidate for the resident roster proposed by the steering committee.
- • It meets once a year in person and/or remotely.
- • The president of the Scientific Board is its permanent representative, the professor holding the “Chair of Transitions” is an ex-officio member and the Executive Director and the Coordinator of the Steering Committee are observer members.
STEERING COMMITTEE
- • Consists of 6 members, half of whom are academics and one of them being its coordinator.
- • It defines the research programs.
- • It appoints the applicants for the selection files.
- • It proposes the future residents of the IAS.
- • The following are ex-officio members: the President of the UM6P (or his representative), the Executive Director, and the Lead of the Chair of Transitions.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTION
- • Ensures the practical operations of the IAS.
- • Makes proposals to the two boards and ensures that the board’s decisions are implemented.
- • It is, along with the scientific director the permanent representative of the IAS for third parties and makes any day-to-day management decisions it deems appropriate.
- • It is assisted by a dedicated secretariat consisting of several members.
SCIENTIFIC DIRECTION
- • Determines the scientific project and the content of the programs.
- • Ensures the scientific selection of candidates in coordination with the steering committee.
- • It, together with the executive director, serves as the permanent representative of the IAS for external parties and exercises discretion in making daily scientific decisions as it sees fit.
- • It is assisted by a dedicated secretariat consisting of several members.
